Competition: July 21st and 22nd, 2007

2007 Atlantic Seaboard Wine Competition.
The 3rd Atlantic Seaboard Wine Competition was held July 21st and 22nd, 2007 at the Regency Country Club at Dominion Valley. 450 wine entries from 102 wineries in 13 states were entered in this year’s competition. Twenty judges, representing all facets of the wine industry, performed blind tastings to select Best of Show, Best of Category, Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners. The Best of Show was a 2005 Cabernet Franc from Fox Meadow Winery in Linden, Virginia. In total, there were 26 Best of Category, 32 Gold Medal, 104 Silver Medal, and 161 Bronze Medal winners.

The awards ceremony will be held on Capitol Hill under the auspices of the Congressional Wine Caucus.

Wines from around the world poured into the Indiana State Fairgrounds Blue Ribbon Pavilion for the sixteenth annual Indy International Wine Competition, May 24 – 25.

The largest wine competition in the US, the Indy International brought in over 3,800 wines from 17 countries. The Indy is also the second largest amateur competition in the country and holds the distinction of largest fruit wine competition.

The 2007 Grand Harvest Wine Awards sponsored by Vineyard & Winery Management Magazine is truly one of a kind! It is the only wine-judging event in North America that is based on terroir – a group of vineyards (or even vines) from the same region, belonging to a specific appellation, and sharing the same type of soil, weather conditions, grapes and wine making savoir-faire, which contribute to give its specific personality to the wine.
